Bishop’s Palace Visitor Centre

Brief Description

The new visitors centre is set within the grounds of The Bishops Palace in Wells. The medieval palace and garden are surrounded by a moat with drawbridge and portcullis.

The new buildings at Bishops Palace provide café, shop, visitor reception facilities, education rooms, office accommodation, gardeners’ facilities and lavatories.

The project also included upgrading the M&E installations to the undercroft and installation of a new lift and staircase within the palace. The project included photovoltaic panels on the roof of the new visitors centre & a water source heat pump.
