Cardigan Castle

Brief Description

This major refurbishment programme began in 2011 with the aim of preserving the castle’s 900 year history for the public. With the help of Heritage Lottery funding and funding from other sources, the programme was able to be completed with official reopening in June 2015.

The project involved restoration of rooms for visitors and exhibitions, restoration of the Georgian Mansion and cottages to provide luxury self-catering holiday lets, simpler B&B accommodation elsewhere on site, a visitor centre, new café and restaurant and the Old Stables education centre. Disabled access has been included wherever possible.
