Brief Description
Delapré Abbey had become a Building at Risk and Northampton Borough Council and the Delapré Abbey Preservation Trust began a campaign to save the Grade II* Listed building. An application for Heritage Lottery Funding was successful in 2013 and work began in 2015 on Phase 1 of the Project.
Phase 1 was to restore the South Range principal rooms to their former glory for visitors to enjoy tours, functions and exhibition spaces, create a new café/ restaurant and toilets and build a new conservatory. Works to the 18th Century Stable Block and Coach House are included in Phase 1 for education and community projects.
