Brief Description

Originally a Romanesque (Norman) church dating from 1050, the re-building of Exeter Cathedral was commenced in 1265 and substantially completed around 1350.

The Cathedral is the only example in Europe of a Decorated Gothic building in its entirety apart from the two northern towers.

It boasts the longest unbroken Gothic stone vaulting in the world.
