Brief Description
The Verderers of the New Forest are elected as guardians of Commoners, common rights and the Forest landscape. The New Forest Act of 1949 gave them additional powers to make and amend byelaws and they meet in the historic Court Room for this purpose. This project involved refurbishing the existing heating system, the design of a new lighting system and a new fire alarm system.
The design included lighting controls to allow flexible use not only as the Court Room, but as an educational and exhibition space with a centrally controlled projector.
