Several of the MTA Staff took part in a charity walk on Sunday the 14th of November, to raise much needed funds for Cancer Research UK.

Organised by our very own CAD manager Roz Tucker, the walk started in Southampton and followed the famous Itchen River all the way to Winchester, a little over 12 miles in total. After a short stroll along the side of the M27, the party of 6 soon found themselves in the autumnal Hampshire countryside, plodding through mud and ducking to escape the evil clutches of fallen trees.

Teamwork and camaraderie played an essential part as they worked together to navigate the wild rapid waters of the River Itchen, leaping across deep flooded voids, and mounting great heights to walk across the famous 33 arch Hockley Railway Viaduct.

Finally, after just 4 hours and 10 minutes, the team arrived in Winchester where they were treated to a slap-up meal at the rather stunning Chesil Rectory.

We would like to say a massive ‘Well Done!’ to Roz Tucker, Neil Prowse, Tim Bartlett, Sheila Latham, Sam Cunningham, and Liane Childs for their fantastic efforts raising £381 for Cancer Research UK so far.
