Brief Description

Shire Hall is a Grade I Listed building which has gained HLF funding to transform it into a major Exhibition and Visitor Centre. The building houses the old Crown Court and Cells and is famous for the trial of the Tolpuddle Martyrs in 1834. It is owned by West Dorset District Council and managed by the Shire Hall Trust.

The Project was to create a working museum with a learning space, exhibition space, shop and café. It will also include a small commercial lettable area, potentially for use as a Tourist Information Centre. Two apartments are being incorporated for private rent.

Our detailed designs have subsequently been tendered and we are currently undertaking the monitoring role during the construction stage.
